STREET DRUGS
GO BY MANY NAMES

Street drugs, has sort of a rough ring to it, it does to me anyway. I have a few things to say about street drugs and it's counter parts.

I will introduce you to a site that I find simple to navigate, up to date on drug nicknames, and how these names came about for the most part. Why do I believe these nicknames are worth getting acquainted with? Just in case you hear your child or any child say them. I do not think they will be telling you the true meaning if you ask. When a child or anyone is up to no good they are experts at keeping the parents at bay. That is why all the new names are popping up continuously. Write some down, get to know them, itmay save a child's life. For street drugs many names click here.

A very common practice dealers use today is mixing, over the counter drugs ,"OTCD", with the street drugs

They often mix OTCD with the dope to increase or decrease the intensity of the high. They will mix OTCD, that induce a calming affect with cocaine to give a laid back effect, that is felt after the cocaine rush. They may do this with meth,"methamphetamine," also to help give a calming effect. It is also mixed with heroin to make it seem more powerful.

Why they do this? They add more of the cheap OTCD and less of the street drugs so they make more money. If they have access to cheaper prescription drugs they will often add these.

The big problem it's extremely dangerous. These people have the slightest idea what the reaction may be mixing these chemicals together. They are after money, not a degree.

Most small time dealers, are drug addicts. They sell the drugs to help support their habits.

The illegal dope business is
sort of like the fuel industry

People panic when fuel supply is low. Drugs addicts are the same. When drug supplies are low, several things happen. Prices increase, and the quality of the street drugs decreases. In the fuel industry they raise the price, and some add water or a cheaper product that increases the quantity. So the customer pays more money for less quality. The dealer on the other hand does quite the same.

These are not cars they are dealing with these are human beings. They mix cheap OTCD often experimenting to see what works best.

The mentality here is if someone has a severe reaction or dies, their response may be, "it's all part of the game".

It does not have to be a shortage of drugs for this to happen. This goes on regularly, but when drugs dry up the dealer will do what ever is necessary to keep the money coming.

My dope wars page has some important info check it out.

There are many times addicts act as dealers to rip off other addicts. These simple acts can turn into some heavy crimes.

Addicts go to extremes to get the money necessary to get high. They can do this through stealing, pawning their own or stolen property, robbery, stealing from family and friends, or selling something that appears to be a drug. When you buy street drugs there is no taking it back and getting your money back, or a better product in return. You are just beat.

This happens quite often with no action being taken. This can happen several times getting beat by the same drug addict. Till you wise up and quit buying the bunk. The term "bunk",meaning fake dope.

The one being ripped off may find their means of revenge. It can stem from destruction of personal property, fights, stabbings, getting someone to sell the rip off man, bad dope or poison. There has only been one rip off case I've known thats come to murder. I am sure there are many many more.

I did some research and found a few things about OTCD, that I wanted to share with my visitors. These are considered street drugs, or street terms.

Have you ever heard a teen say, four twenty, (4:20). This is a term they use when they are saying,"its time to get high". They said this term was popular in the seventies, I never heard of it, of course there are lots of things I do not remember. If you do hear that term used, I would say just use your common sense, and put two and two together.

There is a drug called DXM,"dextromethorphan" that is used in many OTC cough syrups. When it is abused it is similar to some other drugs that are popular with teens. These popular drugs are PCP (angel dust) and Ketamine (animal tranquilizer). It is extremely dangerous when abused.

Street drugs come from all sorts of places. They are obtainable at the mini mart or the Walmart Super centers. They advertise how well they relieve pain or cough, and for the stimulants they brag about their success in weight loss or the best energy drink or pills. These are the OTCD that are in demand by the kids today.

Some of the chemicals found in diet pills and laxatives can have serious to fatal side effects.

Speaking of street drugs,
lets take a look a marijuana

They say more teens are in treatment today due to pot, than all the other illicit drugs put together. That blew me away.

They also said teens who smoke pot two times a week have two times the risk of depression problems later in life. They compared this to teens who did not smoke pot.

I am on Prozac for depression but I did much more than smoke pot. Pot is not good for the health in many ways. I know many that believe it is harmless. Its not harmless, and that is a fact.

Drugs are everywhere, you have control of these drugs in your home. It is not only the street drugs that pose a threat, many times it is right there in your home.

*Be respectful in keeping track of your child's activities and where abouts. Do not interrogate or pry forcefully.

*Keep inventory of your prescription medications and their's. Watch any drug or cough syrup that contains DXM,(Dextromethorphan)

*Don't forget to keep track of your alcoholic beverages inventory.

*Make a note to keep track of your child's activities on the internet. It is easy to get prescription medication from on line pharmacies. Track any purchases your child may have made.
